He’s coming. In the prologue for ‘The Walking Dead’s mid-season six finale, Daryl, Abraham, and Sasha are introduced to Negan’s gang, The Saviors. Click inside to WATCH!
You thought the Governor was a bad guy? Ha, you haven’t seen anything yet, The Walking Dead fans. A short clip reveals where Daryl (Norman Reedus) and his friends were while Alexandria was being taken over by walkers, and, unfortunately for them, they were being introduced to Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). Well, sort of.
Walkers, pedophiles, cannibals… Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his group have seen a lot in the zombie apocalypse. But, they haven’t seen Negan, and if the show follows the comics he is a whole new kind of evil. Quite possibly the worst kind of evil, if we’re really going to go there.
Shortly after The Walking Dead‘s mid-season finale ended on a massive cliffhanger on Sunday night, Nov. 29, a short two-minute prologue showed us what is keeping Daryl, Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green), and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) from Alexandria. As they are driving down an empty road they come across a gang of guys on bikes waiting for them, as if they knew they were coming that way all along. (FYI: Robert Kirkman confirmed the group was The Saviors on Talking Dead‘s Nov. 29 episode.)
The so-called “leader” of the pack demands that they turn off the truck and step out of the vehicle, which the three of them do despite some serious hesitation. Once they are out of the truck the man demands that they hand over everything they have — especially their weapons. When Abraham questions him, his response reveals who they are working for: Negan.
“See, your weapons, your truck, the fuel in your truck. If you got mints in your glove compartment, if you got porn underneath the seat, change in the seats, hell, the seats themselves. The floor mats, your maps, little stash of emergency napkins you’ve got there in the console. None of those things are yours any more,” he says. “Your property now belongs to Negan.”
Negan Kills Glenn In The Comics
It’s been widely rumored that Negan, who will be portrayed by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, will make his first appearance on the show in the season six finale in 2016. However, by the sound of it, he’s not too far off and could possibly appear before then.
As exciting as that is, it could also be setting the stage for Glenn’s (Steven Yeun) death. His real death. As many TWD comic readers know, it’s Negan who takes Glenn’s life in brutal fashion. If things are headed in that direction, viewers of the show will be pretty upset after everything they’ve been through with Glenn during season six, no?
