What a bummer! The entire cast of ‘Full House’ is getting together for the Netflix reboot of ‘Fuller House’, but the Olsen twins are officially not going to be a part of the new show. What are we going to do without Michelle Tanner?
The Full House spinoff won’t be available until 2016, but we’ve already been getting sneak peeks from behind the scenes of its filming thanks to the social media savvy cast. And while we were holding out hope that either Mary Kate or Ashley Olsen, 29, would step up and at least make a cameo as the youngest Tanner, we’re not going to get it after all. Star Lori Loughlin, 51, has confirmed they never taped anything for the new show, which has wrapped its first season.
Lori delivered the bad news via a Huffington Post interview, confirming they weren’t in any episodes that were shot for the show’s first season, not even filming a quick cameo appearance as some had hoped! She noted that filming has wrapped, so there go our hopes of Michelle Tanner’s return.
John Stamos, 52, who’s returning as Uncle Jesse, had hinted that they weren’t coming back for the show during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live in early Oct. He said,”I called them up, asked them to do it. They’re onto a different phase of their lives, they haven’t acted in a long time, but everything is super sweet between us.”
The original and beloved Full House, ran on ABC from 1987 – 1995, so naturally fans rejoiced last April when Netflix announced it was ordering 13 episodes of Fuller House. The reboot centers around Candace Cameron Bure‘s character D.J. Tanner-Fuller. She’ll be playing a widow trying to raise three children, but she’ll have plenty of help from her sister Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin), and best pal Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber). Original cast members John, Lori, Dave Coulier, 55, and Bob Saget, 59, will all be making appearances on the new show. If you want to relive the original Full House, you can buy the entire series set here.
But we’re still bummed that one of the Olsen twins could have given us just a quick cameo as Michelle.
