It was a full night, so let’s get into it! After a holiday-inspired opening dance number, Chaka Khan wowed the crowd with a performance of “I’m Every Woman.”
Then, Kim Zolciak Biermann, who had to withdraw from the competition for health reasons, and partner Tony Dovolani, danced their “I Dream Of Jeanine” routine. We’re so glad she’s feeling better and was able to perform!
Elle King performed her hit “Ex’s & Oh’s” — she sounded amazing! Then, Alexa PenaVega and Mark Ballas did an encore performance of their Jazz routine to the Breaking Bad theme song. Later, Alexander Jean sang “Roses and Violets” while Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough danced.
The Finalists Dance One More Time In The Fusion Challenge
Nick and Sharna danced a Tango / Salsa fusion. Julianne Hough said, “You left it all on the dance floor, literally! I so enjoyed waching you this entire season! This was your last chance to dance and you did it beautifully.” Bruno Tonioli commented: “We can always count on you to spice up the night! I love passion!” “I’m sad this is the last time we’re going to see you dance! You ended on the highest note possible!” Carrie Ann Inaba said. They got a perfect 30!
Alek Skarlatos and Lindsay Arnold danced a Rumba / Tango fusion. “Your hips are starting to come alive! A couple of foot faults but I think it was a question of nerves. What you have achieved in this competition is beyond,” Bruno said. “Integrity of character and integrity of movement,” Carrie Ann said. “Your future is so bright. Thank you for being here with us,” Julianne said. They got a 27, and the audience boo’d the judges!
Finally, Derek and Bindi danced their Cha Cha / Argentine Tango and got a standing ovation from the judges. “I can’t think of a more perfect way to end the season. Season 21 has been my favorite by far and it’s because of you,” Carrie Ann said. “It was strong, it was energetic. You have been pure joy and consistent from day one to the finale,” Julianne said. Bruno called her a “dancing delight” and a “sensation.” They got a perfect 30!
Before the final results, Nick performed his song “I Will Wait.”
Alek and Lindsay took the third place slot. At the end of the night, only one couple could walk away with the mirror ball and it was….
BINDI AND DEREK! (Yay! I wanted them to win!)
