Is there a double standard going on over at the ABC? Fans seems to think so because Adam Lambert’s guy on guy kiss at the 2009 AMAs was called ‘controversial’ but Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth’s kiss was acceptable?
Fans are in an uproar on Twitter over Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth‘s huge make out at the 2015 AMAs not being criticized like Adam Lambert‘s performance six years ago. Fans seem to think there’s just a huge double standard or perhaps ABC has just grown a lot in the past several years and has become more accepting?
Fans are furious because when Meghan and Charlie made out for several seconds in a very raunchy lip lock during their duet of “Marvin Gaye,” no one seemed to bat an eye! But when Adam made out with a guy during his 2009 performance, he was called “controversial.” Now fans are slamming ABC on twitter!
In case you forgot, at the time Adam’s GMA appearance was subsequently cancelled because of the steamy kiss. ABC claimed they received over 1,500 complaints after his “For Your Entertainment” performance, which including a same-sex kiss, putting a guy’s face in his crotch and more. Sounds tame compared to several of Miley Cyrus‘ performances we’ve seen lately!
