Is the bad blood between Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift back on? Both are up for Artist Of The Year at the AMAs, and HollywoodLife.com has the EXCLUSIVE scoop that Nicki is already celebrating her victory because she thinks Taylor ‘simply won’t beat her.’
The rivalry between Nicki Minaj, 32, and Taylor Swift, 25, lives! Both of these music superstars are up for the top honor at the American Music Awards, but Nicki thinks Taylor shouldn’t bother showing up. HollywoodLife.com has EXCLUSIVELY learned that Nicki is already partying because there’s no way Taylor’s winning this time.
“Nicki’s already celebrating the fact that she’s going to be named Artist of the Year at the AMAs,” a source close to the Pinkprint singer EXCLUSIVELY tells HollywoodLife.com. Nicki, along with her boy, Meek Mill, have been “popping champagne” in the days leading up to the Nov. 22 award shows because Nicki knows the win is “already in the bag”
“She’s claiming it! She’s quite confident,” the source tells HollywoodLife.com. “She’s been telling those close to her that Taylor simply can’t and won’t beat her.” Nicki has also written out her acceptance speech and, according to the source, “attempting to memorize it.” Pick up your copy of Nicki’s Pinkprint here.
Nicki is looking to take home the top AMA honor after Taylor won Video Of The Year at the MTV VMAs. Nicki’s “Anaconda” video didn’t even score a nomination, and she went off on “women with very slim bodies,” causing a back-and-forth between Nicki and Taylor. While fans expected some kind of confrontation at the VMAs, Taylor and Nicki buried the hatchet with a surprise performance of both “The Night Is Still Young” and “Bad Blood.”
Nicki’s confidence also comes from “taking down Miley Cyrus” at the VMAs and also from “making Taylor eat her own words,” the source tells HollywoodLife.com, adding that after having “a brilliant tour” and “winning awards left and right,” she’s ready to accept the top AMA.
“She’s not trying to disrespect Taylor or any of the other artists nominated in the same category,” the source tells HollywoodLife.com, adding “She feels it in her heart that she’s going to own the award show.” As for Taylor, Luke Bryan, Ariana Grande and One Direction, those also nominated in the category, Nicki simply thinks, “it’s just not their year.”
