Gwen Stefani got emotional on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ on Nov. 20, and it’s all because of her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale. Is she starting to crack after heartbreaking reports of his infidelity with their children’s nanny? We have the details, here!
Gwen Stefani, 46, got teary eyed when she sat down to talk to her friend Ellen DeGeneres, 57, on Nov. 20, once the subject of her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale, 50, came up. We’ve got the scoop on what got her so choked up, here!
There was a lot of beating around the bush on Ellen on Nov. 20, but even with her careful consideration of Gwen’s feelings, they crept through on her face. Ellen brought up Gwen’s last trip to the show, and how she performed her song “Used To Love You.” Ellen explained why the song was so meaningful, and why Gwen got so emotional during her performance. “It’s so personal, and that was the first time you performed it, because you literally had just written it,” said Ellen. “It was super emotional, I think I even sang one of the lyrics wrong,” said Gwen, now getting a little teary eyed thinking back on the moment. At the time, news of her husband’s reported affair with their nanny hadn’t come out to the public yet, but Ellen acknowledged it gently on Nov. 19.
“I mean, when someone’s going through what you went through, and we wont… if you’ve read the magazines you know what we’re talking about and if you haven’t, I don’t know if you really want to talk about it,” says Ellen while Gwen balks, getting a little awkward. Ellen mentions her divorce and Gwen groans, seeming to be fighting back tears, so Ellen didn’t push her. “You were hurting, then you get to do this creative outlet of writing a song, and I think a lot of women need this. A lot of women are going through the same thing you’re going through,” said Ellen while Gwen collected herself.
“I’m glad that people are seeing the strength, because you turned a corner and you went through a lot of pain,” said Ellen. Gwen seemed to perk up and focus on the future with her handsome new beau Blake Shelton instead of her rough past, saying, “I’m in a good place. I’m having a lot of fun, it’s like a whole new life, a whole new chapter.” Yay Gwen! We’re so happy for you. Stay positive girl, all this nanny-business will (hopefully) fade away soon.
