Jenny McCarthy tore into Charlie Sheen for not being ‘upfront’ with his HIV diagnosis when they worked together, but Charlie’s people are firing back. The ‘Anger Management’ star’s manager slammed Jenny’s claims, pointing out she needs to get her dates right before dissing Charlie.
Jenny McCarthy, 43, opened up on Charlie Sheen, 50, after he revealed he was HIV positive during a TODAY show appearance. Jenny wasn’t too pleased with her former Two And A Half Men co-star, asking why he didn’t tell her about his disease. Well, Charlie’s peeps have responded to Jenny, telling her to check her facts before she starts throwing shade.
Jenny let her rage fly during her Dirty Sexy Funny Sirius XM radio show on Nov. 18. She played Charlie’s love interest for eight episodes of Two And A Half Men, and she was angry at the thought of being exposed to Charlie’s virus. “If I have to be upfront about a herpe,” she angrily asked, “how could you not be upfront about HIV?” However, Charlie’s manager pointed out a critical flaw in Jenny’s accusation:
“Charlie was infected long after he left Two And A Half Men,” his manager, Mark Burg, told People magazine in a statement, emphasizing that Charlie contracted HIV “long after he worked with Jenny.”
Charlie maintains that he was diagnosed HIV until he was done with his run on the hit show in 2011. This piece of information didn’t prevent Jenny from laying into Charlie. “Being on Two And A Half Men myself and being on the show and playing a love interest, you would think that there would be some type of – I don’t want to say – criminal issue…but I don’t even know how to feel about that.”
Granted, Charlie may face some jail time if he did have sex with someone without telling them he was HIV positive, but according to his manager, Jenny was never at any risk. Perhaps Jenny could calm down by watching some episodes of Anger Management — which you can see the whole series HERE.
Jenny’s not the only one upset that Charlie didn’t disclose his HIV status. His ex-goddess-girlfriend, Bree Olson, claimed he didn’t reveal he had the disease while together. However, Mark Burg also said that the reason Charlie didn’t tell Bree he had HIV was that he didn’t get infected until after they broke up.
Do you think Jenny has a right to be angry, HollywoodLifers? Or do you think she may need to chill?
