What a big night for Jeffery Austin on ‘The Voice.’ The singer, who is one of Gwen Stefani’s top 3 artists, had a breakout performance on the live Nov. 16 episode, and finally showed to the world what his coach has been raving about all season long.
Congratulations, Jeffery Austin — your performance of “Let It Go” on The Voice was one of the most memorable of the night on Nov. 16. After weeks of flying under the radar, this breakout moment is just what you needed, and totally proved that you’re deserving of all the praise coach Gwen Stefani has been giving throughout this season of the show.
I’ll admit it: Jeffery was always forgettable to me in the first few rounds of this competition. Although Gwen kept keeping him around week after week, for some reason, I just couldn’t get on board! But on Monday, Jeff left everything on the stage, and he completely mesmerized me with his rendition of “Let It Go” — it was just what I needed to finally see what Gwen, and, considering he got voted through by America last week, the public, saw in him.
While this was a huge moment for Jeffery, I think it was also really important for Gwen that one of her artists had a big night on Monday. So far, Season 9 has been completely dominated by Adam Levine’s contestant, Jordan Smith, who has been incredible week after week and deserves all the recognition he’s gotten. But because of this, along with Blake Shelton’s country music Triple Threat, Gwen and Pharrell’s teams had kind of fallen off the radar, so it was great that one of the 46-year-old’s singers really showed up to play.
Gwen was the only one to turn around for Jeffery in the Blind Auditions, and it’s proving to be one of the best decisions she’s made on the show. Jeffery truly has what it takes to carry Team Gwen to the end, and if he keeps up what he did last night, he’ll be a force to be reckoned with in the weeks to come. Keep it up!
HollywoodLifers, do you think Jeffery is a strong contender to win The Voice? Which contestant do you think will be eliminated on the Nov. 17 episode?
