Is Floyd Mayweather done talking trash? When he was asked his thoughts about Ronda Rousey’s shocking defeat to Holly Holm, Floyd opted to give a pretty nice and fair opinion instead of throwing shade! See his surprising response here!
Despite Floyd Mayweather, 38, and Ronda Rousey, 28, having some beef in the past, his reaction to her epic take down by Holly Holm, 34, at the UFC 193 fight on Nov. 14 wasn’t nearly as harsh as fans would expect! Celebs from Donald Trump to Lady Gaga have completely dissed Ronda after her loss, but despite Floyd’s history with Ronda, the world-famous boxer didn’t have anything nasty to say about the MMA fighter. In fact, he gave a very logical, cordial answer!
“Oh, I don’t know. I don’t speak on nobody’s situation,” Mayweather told MLive.com.“Just in boxing period, contact sports period, you win some, you lose some. I don’t know about this fight, I just know that you win some and you lose some. It basically comes with the territory.”
Look at Floyd being nice! He was asked for his opinion while watching a Los Angeles Lakers-Detroit Pistons game, so he could have been a little too distracted to be in the shade-throwing mindset. Then again, he’s supposedly done with his perfect 49-0 career, so maybe Floyd is also done with his dissing days — and his feud with Ronda!
In fact, a source told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that he isn’t going to shade Ronda because he thinks it might have been good for her ego! “He’s not going to bash Ronda hard, I mean, she still hasn’t recovered from the spanking she just got. At least let the girl wake up from her deep sleep,” the source said. “Not everyone can be undefeated like Floyd. Just saying. Floyd talks a gang of s*** but if you look at his record, he can back it up. Not so much for other cocky fighters. Floyd hopes she’s learned a valuable lesson.”
The bad blood between Floyd and Ronda all started when he admitted he didn’t know who Ronda was in 2014. After receiving the 2015 ESPY Award for Best Fighter in July, Ronda totally dissed Floyd in her acceptance speech, asking him what it felt like “being beaten by a woman for once.” He fired back in August by saying “she’ll never be at my status.” Considering how heated their feud got, it’s pretty surprising Floyd didn’t have something super harsh to say about Ronda losing. Nevertheless, we commend Floyd for showing Ronda some respect after she suffered such a heartbreaking loss!
While Ronda hasn’t responded to anyone’s reactions (good or bad), she did break her silence on Instagram following her loss on Nov. 15 to thank fans and reassure them that she’ll be back fighting after taking a little break. If Ronda starts to get some more positive feedback like Floyd’s, we wouldn’t doubt it if she comes back sooner than later!
