Kyle White, lead colorist at Oscar Blandi Salon in New York City, is offering some top tips on what to do as the weather gets colder. He works with huge celebs like Robin Wright, Mariah Carey and Ivanka Trump, so he knows what he is doing!
“For fall, change your hair color by making it slightly darker and warmer than the bright, pale shades that worked so well in summer,” Kyle says.
Since some skin tones get much paler in the winter, it’s important to bring warmth back into the skin. You can do this by adding golden tones in hair. “Light shades that worked so well with bronzed skin can suddenly begin to wash out fairer complexions brought on by the changing seasons. Deepening your color slightly will ensure you maintain contrast between your skin and your hair.”
In between trips to the salon, use an at-home gloss (Kyle likes the Rita Hazan Ultimate Shine Gloss) for depth and warmth in your hair.
