So sad. ‘Jackass’ star Vincent Margera, the uncle of Bam Margera, passed away on Nov. 15 at the age of 59. He had been struggling with kidney and liver failure for years before his death.
The cast of Jackass has lost another loved one. Vincent “Don Vito” Margera, who appeared on the hit reality show and spinoffs, passed away on Nov. 15. He was 59. Bam Margera’s uncle had fallen into a coma just weeks before his death.
Vincent died Nov. 15 at 6:45 a.m., TMZ reports. His health had rapidly been declining after he was hospitalized in Oct. 2015 and fell into a coma. Two of his vital organs — his liver and kidneys — were allegedly in bad shape due to his hard partying over the years.
Vincent became a reality favorite after appearing alongside his nephew on Jackass in the early 2000s. He also appeared on Bam’s own show Viva La Bam. The two were known for pulling off epic and hilarious pranks. He was featured in Haggard: The Movie and Minghags. Vincent was given the name “Don Vito” for his nearly unintelligible speech like The Godfather’s Don Vito Corleone.
In the years before his death, Vincent ran into legal trouble. He was found guilty in 2007 of two counts of sexual assault. He had to register as a sex offender in Colorado and Pennsylvania, complete sex offender treatment and drugs and alcohol treatment. Vincent was also ordered to give up his alter ego for 10 years.
This must be such a tough time for Bam. The former MTV reality star lost his best friend and co-star Ryan Dunn in 2011 in a car crash. Our thoughts go out to Vincent’s family and friends during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Don.
