As terrorists attacked restaurants, bars, a concert hall and a soccer stadium in Paris on Nov. 13, photos and video of the events unfolding and the tragic aftermath made their way across Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. A lovely evening in Paris turned deadly as terror attacks occurred throughout the city. One of the shooting locations occurred at a popular Cambodian restaurant, as well as a crowded bar. Photos show an array of bullet holes and broken glass outside the Le Petite Cambode restaurant, we well as bodies covered by sheets in the streets, showing the number of people cut down where they were standing by the gunmen.
Many of the early photos as the attacks were unfolding show the chaos as authorities tried to secure the shooting locations, as well as tend to the victims and stay on guard for more possible attacks. Ambulances are shown with bloodied victims being loaded into them. It’s a scene of confusion and terror.
Perhaps the most heartbreaking story was of the victims inside a heavy metal concert. Four gunmen burst into the Bataclan Theater during an Eagles Of Death Metal show that was just wrapping up. They eventually held over 100 people hostage briefly, before shooting them to death. Those who were able to be rescued by police are shown being cared for and loaded on to buses to be take to safety, while the injured are treated by paramedics and many of the images show heroic policemen at the scene, both before making entry and afterwards with survivors.
In all, the death toll stands at 153 victims in a series of seven coordinated attacks in the French capital the evening of Nov. 13. French authorities report have confirmed 112 people were killed at the Bataclan Theater, 14 died at a Cambodian restaurant, 19 died outside of a crowded bar, four were killed outside the Stade de France after a suicide bomber detonated his device, and four were killed in an incident on the Avenue Republique. A new report claims that seven of the eight terrorists involved blew themselves up with explosive belts.
Our thoughts remain with the people of France and the families of the victims during this very difficult time. Stay tuned to HollywoodLife.com for more updates as news breaks.
