How adorable is this? Overjoyed new mom Jessa Duggar Seewald is showing off her newborn son, Spurgeon Elliot. After giving birth on Nov. 5, she just can’t stop letting the world get a glimpse of her bundle of joy, and the latest photo is the most precious yet!
Jessa Duggar Seewald, 23, can’t get enough of sharing photos of her first child, Spurgeon Elliot. Like any first time mother, she can’t wait to show the world every step of her little one’s life. In honor of her son turning one week old on Nov. 12, she shared an up close look at her sleeping bundle of joy, and also revealed how she and husband Ben Seewald, 20, came up with the unique baby name. Can we get an “awwww” over this photo?
“Can’t believe my baby boy is already one week old! So grateful to God for this precious little gift. #BabyQuincy #SprugeonEliotSeewald,” Jessa captioned an Instagram photo showing the sleeping baby’s face in a close-up while he’s napping away, wearing a blue knit cap to keep him warm and comfy. It’s a far cry from where mother and son were on Nov. 5, when they had to be rushed to the hospital after Jessa suffered scary complications during her son’s home birth.
The 19 Kids And Counting reality star and her husband revealed and explained the name of their newborn son on TLCme via the family’s youtube page. In a cute video Jessa said “We are very excited to introduce our little baby boy to the world…we’ve been working on deciding on a name and we finally figured it out.” Then she turned to Ben who revealed, “So his name is Spurgeon Elliot Seewald.”
The couple explained that the unique first name comes from a preacher whose teachings had a profound affect on both of them. “Charles Spurgeon was a preacher that lived back in the 19th century,” Ben stated, “And he had a big impact on our lives. His writings and sermons and books are still around today and they continue to impact many, many people.” The little boy’s middle name comes from the surname of a missionary couple they admired.
