The teams on ‘The Voice’ have officially been halved. Each coach was forced to say goodbye to three artists on the Live Playoffs results show Nov. 11, and they each had to make brutal decisions about who would fill their third and final spots. Find out who’s moving onto the Top 12 here!
America, meet your Top 12 on Season 9 of The Voice! The results were added up, and on Nov. 11, two contestants from each coach’s team automatically moved on based on viewers votes alone. But it was up to Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Pharrell and Adam Levine to decide who would take the final slots, and in doing so, they had to send three team members home…each. Read a full recap here!
First up to hear their results was Gwen’s team and tensions were understandably high as Carson Daly revealed who would definitely be sticking around. Jeffery Austin and Braiden Sunshine got America’s vote on this one, and with Gwen choosing Korin Bukowski, the three singers sent home were Regina Love,Viktor Kiraly and Ellie Lawrence.
Then came Team Blake. The country star’s team members Barrett Baber and Zach Seabaugh were voted through, and he added Emily Ann Roberts to his third open slot, sending Ivonne Acero, Morgan Frazier and Nadjah Nicole home. Blake is the winningest coach in The Voice history, and with the strong singers he’s going into the Top 12 with this year, we wouldn’t be surprised if he makes another run for the trophy!
Up next, Pharrell. With so many strong performances from his team on the Nov. 10 episode, this was obviously a big decision, and Madi Davis and Evan McKeel were voted through. The “Happy” singer agonized over which three he’d have to send home, but ultimately chose to keep Mark Hood. That left Darius Scott, Celeste Betton and Riley Biederer as the eliminated artists, and we’re so sad to see them go!
And finally, Team Adam! The two contestants announced safe based on America’s votes were Jordan Smith and Shelby Brown. That left the Maroon 5 frontman with a tough decision, but of his four remaining team members, he decided to keep Amy Vachal around for another shot in the competition, which meant Blaine Mitchell, Keith Semple and Chance Pena were sadly sent home. But it was a great run, right!?
On the Nov. 16 episode, the Top 12 will perform live, and from here on out, the decisions will be entirely up to America. Two more singers will be eliminated on Nov. 17, and it doesn’t matter what team they’re on: The pair with the lowest amount of votes will be sent packing. It’s going to be an intense few weeks — stay tuned!
