Now that Tamar Braxton has quit ‘Dancing With The Stars’ due to health concerns, could her place be filled with recently eliminated Alexa Vega? HollywoodLife.com has learned the truth about what producers are planning to do with Tamar’s open spot on the show.
Tamar Braxton, 38, revealed on Nov. 11 that she was forced to withdraw from Dancing With The Stars after doctors found blood clots in both of her lungs. She was rushed to the hospital on Nov. 9 but still made it back to perform on the show with partner, Val Chmerkovskiy to avoid being disqualified, even though it was clear she wasn’t feeling well. The singer stayed in the competition while actress Alexa Vega, 27, was sent packing. So will Alexa be brought back now that Tamar is out? HollywoodLife.com has learned the EXCLUSIVE truth about what the show plans to do.
“The plan is to continue the show with who is left and not to bring anyone back,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. But producers are going to let the “Alexa returns” rumors float out there for a little while longer. “They want the discussion to be made until then for tune in purposes, but they intend to ride out the show with who they have left.”
Alexa had the added advantage of being partnered with former champ and fan favorite Mark Ballas, 29. Our source said that when a contestant is with Derek (Hough) or Mark, the chances of them coming back is “definitely something that would happen with their popularity!” But our insider revealed that, “They would have to invalidate all the votes from last week, or give Alexa her own voting time. It seems like too much trouble, so we shouldn’t anticipate her back even with the Mark factor.”
Tamar revealed the heartbreaking news that she was leaving the dance floor in an Instagram post Nov. 11. “With a Heavy heart I regret to inform you that my season of #dwts has to come to an end along with the rest of my tour dates with @musicbykem,” she wrote. “After yesterday’s final #dwts performance I went back to the hospital (after the doctors didn’t want me to leave in the first place) only to find out that I don’t have pneumonia but something way more serious and that is having several P.E.’s (blood clots in both sides of my lungs).” Scary! We wish Tamar a speedy recovery.
