This was a tough week for all the teams on ‘DWTS,’ and Sharna just revealed in her HollywoodLife.com blog that Nick Carter actually left rehearsal just two days before the live show injured — barely knowing the dance!
“This was by far the most intense week that I have ever been faced with on Dancing with the Stars.” That’s how Sharna Burgess explained the Showstopper week, where she and Nick Carter did two separate dances — one with Val Chmerkovskiy and Tamar Braxton. However, she was just as blown away as we all were with Tamar. Here’s this week’s blog!
Not only did we have a new challenge that we have never ever done before, but Nick and I had to travel to Las Vegas with Val and Tamar and even though some of us were sick, we had to create a number for a team dance inspired by the renowned Cirque du Soleil show, “Love.”
On Saturday evening, Nick had to leave rehearsal injured, and at that point he still had not learned most of the team dance. I have never had a moment on DWTS like I did this week where I did not know how to make things work, and it was incredibly stressful. So it was a true testament to the amazing people on my team — Val and Tamar – who has pneumonia and came straight here from the hospital — and my incredible partner Nick, that we were able to pull that team dance together.
With Tamar able to find the strength to turn up to do the live performance so she could fight to not be disqualified from the competition, I have so much respect for her. I even looked at her before we danced and said, ‘You are my wonder woman,’ because I know how much strength it took for her to be here tonight. Nick was also amazing as he really was a leading man in his part with Tamar. I am really proud of him and us as a team.
I can’t believe Alexa is the one to go home this week; it completely broke my heart and she truly delivered an outstanding performance tonight. It was one of my favorite numbers that I have ever seen on the show and I’m so glad that she at least has that last incredible performance to be proud of!
Overall it was an insane week, and what a way to come out of it!
