Zendaya showed off a sleek and sophisticated look at the ACLU SoCal 2015 Bill Of Rights Dinner with the hair and makeup look to match. Keep reading for her hairstylist’s tips on getting the look at home!

Zendaya might only be 19-years-old, but she’s already mastered styling for every occasion. While she loves to experiment with fashion and beauty looks at red carpet events for the 2015 American Civil Liberties Union dinner on November 8, she kept it classic with a three-piece gray pantsuit by Kayat and a classic shiny blowout and soft makeup look to complement her outfit.

Hairstylist Kim Kimble created Zendaya’s sleek blowout, and seeing as she also styles waves on Beyoncé and Shakira, she can definitely teach us all a thing or two about hair. Since blowing your hair into the loose waves style can be tricky, apply a volumizing mousse to your hair while it’s damp and blow it out straight. Use a curling iron all over your hair and then go back in with a straightener to loosen curls that are too tight.

“A lot of times I’ll do a curl and then go back and flat iron it a bit,” Kim told us about getting a looser, more natural curl. Once you’ve created the soft waves that you want, finish with a shine spray like her Kimble Beauty Brazilian Nut & Acai Berry Shine Spray, which works to tame frizz while adding a glossy, healthy finish to your hair.

You can even get more wear out of your blowout by refreshing it the next day with Kimble Beauty Bounce Back Liquid Curl Enhancer.
