Miranda Lambert is really taking her breakup from Blake Shelton — not to mention his new relationship with Gwen Stefani — hard. And she hasn’t been shy about revealing the sad songs she’s been listening to, including, most recently, Eric Church’s ‘Record Year,’ to get her through it. Read the heartbreaking lyrics here.
It looks like Miranda Lambert is looking to another hot country singer for comfort as her ex, Blake Shelton’s, romance with Gwen Stefani heats up. The 31-year-old has been jamming out to Eric Church’s new album Mr. Misunderstood, and she revealed her special connection to the sad breakup track, “Record Year,” on Instagram Nov. 8.
Miranda uploaded a photo of the song playing on her phone and captioned it with the lyrics, “I’m countin on a needle to save me.” “Record Year” tells the story of someone going through a bad breakup who listens to classic music to get through it, and since Miranda is going through a similar situation, it’s pretty telling that she’s relating to this song on a personal level.
Other sad lyrics from the song include, “Since you had to walk on outta here/I’ve been having a record year,” “I bet you thought before you left/I’d just sit in silence by myself/Turn this house into a jail/Dyin’ slow in a livin’ hell,” and “You’re leavin’ left me going crazy.” In the end, though, Eric sings about coming to terms with the breakup and actually wanting to thank said ex for helping him reconnect with these great songs of his past. Hopefully that means the same is happening for the “Little Red Wagon” singer!
This isn’t the first time Miranda has admitted to listening to songs relating to her personal situation, either. She posted these lyrics from the track “Better Than” by Lake Street Dive last week: “I could spend ages reading the news/I could spend days singing the blues/But I turn up the TV light/Give up without a fight/Better than pretending to know what’s wrong and what’s right.” It’s clear the gorgeous country star wants to prove that she’s doing her best to move on — but, of course, it must be hard!
As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Miranda’s obviously upset about everything that’s gone down with Blake and Gwen, but she’s ready to move on romantically, too. “Miranda is ready to move on,” and insider told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “She wants to get on with her life. Sam Hunt is going to be on her tour — he’s drop dead gorgeous and a lot of people would love to see them together.” Ooohh la la!
HollywoodLifers, do you think Miranda will move on from Blake anytime soon? Do you think HE moved on to Gwen too quickly?
