Justin Bieber Drops New Song, ‘Love Yourself’: Dissing An Ex? — Listen

JB just threw some shade! Justin Bieber dropped another new song from his upcoming album ‘Purpose’ on Nov. 9, and he holds nothing back with some pretty intense lyrics that seem to be directed at a former lover! Listen to the diss-filled ‘Love Yourself’ here!

Most songs titled “Love Yourself” are probably pretty uplifting, but not when it comes to Justin Bieber! When the 21-year-old singer released his latest tune from Purpose with that exact title on Nov. 9, fans immediately realized it’s a total shade-throwing song! Despite the harsh lyrics, the song itself is actually quite beautiful — so who could JB be dissing?

Justin called into Zane Lowe’s Beats Radio show to premiere “Love Yourself,” which will be track No. 5 on Purpose. Co-written by Ed Sheeran, the ballad-like electric guitar in the background of the Biebs’ soft vocals make the song totally pretty. But this is fairly ironic, because after listening to the lyrics, we’re can’t help but think he’s targeting someone specific with this diss tune! An ex, perhaps? Considering he told Ellen DeGeneres on Ellen that he wrote three love songs about Selena Gomez for Purpose, we’re thinking it can’t possibly be her. We guess we’ll just have to wait to see who it’s really about! For now, take a look at the lyrics and listen to the track to see what you think!

For all the times that you rain on my parade
And all the clubs you get in using my name
You think you broke my heart, oh girl for goodness sake
You think I’m crying on my own, well I ain’t

And I didn’t wanna write a song cause I didn’t want anyone thinking I still care
I don’t but, you still hit my phone up
And baby I be movin’ on and I think you should be somethin’
I don’t wanna hold back, maybe you should know that
My mama don’t like you and she likes everyone
And I never like to admit that I was wrong
And I’ve been so caught up in my job, didn’t see what’s going on
But now I know, I’m better sleeping on my own

Cause if you like the way you look that much
Oh baby you should go and love yourself
And if you think that I’m still holdin’ on to somethin’
You should go and love yourself

But when you told me that you hated my friends
The only problem was with you and not them
And every time you told my opinion was wrong
And tried to make me forget where I came from

For all the times you made me feel small
I fell in love now I fear nothin’ at all
I never felt so low when I was vulnerable
Was I a fool to let you break down my walls?

Cause if you like the way you look that much
Oh baby you should go and love yourself
And if you think that I’m still holdin’ on to somethin’
You should go and love yourself
Cause if you like the way you look that much
Oh baby you should go and love yourself
And if you think that I’m still holdin’ on to somethin’
You should go and love yourself
