Was this the best performance of the 2015 CMA Awards? Fall Out Boy and Thomas Rhett sure gave other artists a run for their money with an epic mash-up!
Thomas Rhett, 25, just tore up the 2015 CMA Awards stage for his performance with Fall Out Boy! On Wednesday night, Nov. 4, country music’s finest collaborated with this generation’s pop/rock kings to perform “Crash And Burn” and “Uma Thurman.” So cool!
Wait, did that really just happened? Thomas Rhett surprised country music with a little help from his friends, Fall Out Boy! The unlikely pair joined forces on the stage in Nashville, Tenn. to mash-up their hit songs, “Crash And Burn” and “Uma Thurman,” and it was pretty amazing.
The performance started out with Thomas’ song, and all four musicians stood on a pretty cool modern black-and-white stage with a staircase winding around the side. Soon enough they were joined by a handful of gorgeous back up dancers… which might just be a first for Fall Out Boy!
They ended the incredible performance with a snippet of “Uma Thurman,” which was the perfect fit to the overall retro vibe of their time on stage. Could Fall Out Boy and Thomas Rhett bring pop, punk rock, and country together again in the future? We sure as heck hope so!
