Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood kicked off the Country Music Association Awards with a song called ‘Everything Is Cray Cray’ and dissed Caitlyn Jenner’s transition — ouch!
Whoa, shots fired! We knew that the opening number at the Country Music Association Awards with Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood would be filled with some disses but we really didn’t expect for Caitlyn Jenner to be on the chopping block.
During the song which they called “Everything Is Cray Cray,” Brad sang “Bruce’s a babe now.” Ouch, was that really necessary? Fans definitely don’t seem to think so and several of them took to Twitter to voice how angry they were over the random and hurtful dig. Plus, fans are upset that they referred to Caitlyn as Bruce … yikes!

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood just identified Caitlyn Jenner as "Bruce". The CMA's condones Transphobia apparently.

We really don’t understand why Caitlyn was targeted, she has nothing to do with country music and it did seem mean spirited. Let’s not forget what Cait said during her ESPYs speech about people who make fun of her: “If you want to call me names, make jokes, doubt my intentions, go ahead, because the reality is, I can take it,” she said. “But for the thousands of kids out there, coming to terms with being true to who they are, they shouldn’t have to take it.”
We know that anyone and everyone is fair game for the show and they generally make fun of the biggest things that have happened in the year but dissing Cait? Really? Something that may make them feel a little bad is this part of Cait’s moving speech: “[Transgendered kids] are getting bullied, they’re getting beaten up, they’re getting murdered and they’re committing suicide. The numbers that you just heard before are staggering, but they are the reality of what it is like to be trans today.”
HollywoodLifers, what did you think of their diss against Caitlyn?
