Zendaya’s hairstyle was sexy and chic at the CFDA/’Vogue’ Fashion Fund event in New York City on Nov. 2. I spoke to her hairstylist to get the details on the exact look!
Zendaya‘s sleek, textured bun at the CFDA dinner on Nov. 2 was flawless. It looked intricate, but it’s actually quite easy to do yourself! Read tips from Zendaya’s stylist below!
Then she told me how you can copy the look:
“Zendaya’s look is a look any girl at home can do and looks great on everyone. First, I start by spraying CHI Total Protect from mid-shaft down, then spray CHI VOLUME BOOSTER from root to ends as well. I start from the nape of the hair, making sections and blow dry her hair upward — that way when I make my ponytail, it’s nice and smooth. I like to use a Mason Pearson brush to get the roots really flat. I continue blow drying all the hair in the back upwards and in the front I blow dry it back.
Once I’m done blow drying, I take a hook elastic and make my high ponytail. I like to smooth hair with my Mason Pearson brush to get a smooth ponytail. Now that my hair is secured in the high ponytail, I take a 1-inch curling iron and I take medium sections and curl the hair, just so I give it a little bit of texture and movement.
After I use CHI INFRA TEXTURE DUAL ACTION HAIRSPRAY all over the ponytail to give it texture and volume and then just kind of scrunch it in the shape you like and use large hair pins to secure the shape you like. This is a different way than your usual bun that you just wrap around your ponytail. By scrunching it into place it gives it a lot more texture. Now that I have my textured bun, I like to use a small toothbrush and spray Enviro 54 Hairspray Firm Hold to smooth any flyaways and make sure it’s super sleek.
I also use the hairspray all over my textured bun just to secure it. There — you have the perfect textured bun!”
Do you love Zendaya’s super sleek bun? Would you rock this look?
