Who knew LeBron James was a rockstar? He not only dressed up as Prince for Halloween, but he even gave an impromptu performance of some classic Prince hits — and totally nailed it! Watch the videos below!
LeBron James, 30, may be the king of his Cleveland Cavaliers basketball team, but on Halloween, he was Prince! The NBA star went all-out for his team’s Halloween party on Oct. 31 with a costume that was practically an exact replica of the iconic singer’s signature 80s look. But even with an absolutely perfect outfit, LeBron took things a step further by getting up on stage and giving a concert as Prince!
Sporting a pair of leather pants, a purple velvet jacket, a frilly white blouse, a leopard print scarf, and a fake afro, LeBron didn’t miss a single part of Prince’s trademark look. Perfectly clad, he took the stage to sing/lip-sync Prince’s hits “Purple Rain,” “When Doves Cry,” and “I Would Die 4 U,” and his teammate Mo Williams caught it all on camera. He held nothing back when belting out the “Purple Rain” chorus, and even had an electric guitar for the guitar solos! LeBron posted his own pics from the epic moment, captioning one of them, “About last night! The Artist Formerly Known As Prince grace the stage. Epic performance by the man himself! Hahahaha.” Needless to say, LeBron didn’t miss a beat this Halloween!
LeBron made sure to post other pictures from the night, along with one of him and his teammates. Although they couldn’t really hold a candle to the perfection that was LeBron’s costume, the whole team did a pretty great job at getting into the Halloween spirit as well. The guys dressed up as everything from a minion to Clark Kent/Superman to Freddy Krueger — one even dressed up as a giant baby! Clearly LeBron isn’t the only one who loves dressing up!
Along with LeBron and the rest of the Cavaliers, tons of other celebs decked out in flawless costumes for Halloween. Just to name a few, Heidi Klum was unrecognizable as Jessica Rabbit, Gigi Hadid rocked a sexy Sandy from Grease outfit, and Katy Perry was clever as a mic drop! Neil Patrick Harris even dressed his whole family as Star Wars characters! But as much as we loved everyone’s costumes this year, we have to say that LeBron’s mini Prince concert was one of the best. Who knows, maybe we’ll see some “Thriller” moves from a LeBron-Michael Jackson next year!
Do you think LeBron made a good Prince, HollywoodLifers? What did you think of his performance? Tell us what you did for Halloween below!
