Plastered Piggy! What happens when you mix ‘The Muppets’ with cocktails, a karaoke machine and Ed Helms? Apparently, a night of pure ‘Hangover’ style debauchery — but, that’s NOTHING compared to what happens with Fozzie when he shoots [SPOILER] in the face … with a t-shirt gun!
Okay, time to get things started. ‘The Muppets’ has been continually pushing the boundaries each of week, putting the gang in more and more adult situations to see how the audience will respond. This week, Miss Piggy and friends get rip-roaring drunk after their show — and Fozzie has to deal with the consequences not practicing t-shirt gun safety. Only on ‘The Muppets’!
It all starts when Piggy overhears her crew discussing heading over to Rowlf’s Tavern after work, as they do after every show. Being, well, Miss Piggy, she’s instantly insulted over never being invited, even after Kermit tries to explain to her that the whole reason they go is to vent about ‘the bosses’. Still, he asks Pepe, Gonzo and Scooter to invite her, hoping that just the gesture itself will suffice. It does not. Soon, Piggy’s boring her crew to tears with tales of her fabulous lifestyle, full of limo rides and arguments with landscape designers.
But things take a turn when The Hangover star Ed Helms shows up and helps get the party started. Soon, the whole gang is beyond wasted, belting out all the karaoke classics — and you haven’t lived until you’ve seen a smashed Swedish Chef busting out ‘Rapper’s Delight. The night of drunken antics seems to have been a big hit with everyone — except poor Kermit, who comes into work the next day to find his crew seriously hungover and totally useless. Since he can’t run a show with a crew constantly in a haze, he finally convinces Piggy that she’s, you know, just too special to hang out with the crew as friends. Their rightful place is below her, serving her — not as her equal. As you could’ve probably guessed, that does the trick and all is right with the world again.
Elsewhere, Fozzie Bear, being the show’s warm up act, attempts to get the crowd going with a little swag. Unfortunately, while attempting to fire off the t-shirt gun, he accidentally shoots someone in the face — his long time heckler, Statler. You know, of Statler and Waldorf, the grumpy old duo who have more laughs at Fozzie then with him. When Statler is taken to the hospital, Fozzie tries his damnedest to make up for his carelessness. In the end, it’s all for naught. When Fozzie returns to the hospital later on with a plethora of gifts, he finds the old man is gone … and in his place, a big sign that reads,’SUCKER!’ Hey, can’t keep a good Muppet down, especially when he’s out to make a fool out of Fozzie!
