Jenny McCarthy’s heart is with her ex, Jim Carrey, as he grieves the loss of his girlfriend, Cathriona White, who died of an apparent suicide. The radio host broke her silence about the tragic news on Sept. 30.
Jim Carrey, 53, is absolutely devastated after the death of his on-off girlfriend, Cathriona White, 30, and his ex, Jenny McCarthy, totally feels for him. The 42-year-old appeared somber while walking through LAX on Sept. 30, and shared her first words on Cathriona’s sudden death. See what she had to say.
“Just prayers,” she said to the cameras, according to E! News. “Just prayers.” Jenny was clearly opting to remain mostly private on this subject, but it’s great to know that she’s thinking of her famous ex-boyfriend during such a difficult time (the pair dated from late 2005 until early 2010, and lived together for some time before splitting up).
Cathriona’s body was reportedly found by two of her friends when they went to check on her on Sept. 28. The death is being considered an apparent suicide as of now, and law enforcement allegedly believe the 30-year-old tragically died of a drug overdose — there were reportedly pills found by her body when the cops arrived.
It’s been reported that Cathriona left a suicide note addressed to Jim, and that the pair broke up on Sept. 24, just four days after her body was found. “Singing off Twitter,” she wrote on Twitter the day of the rumored split. “I hope I have been a light to my nearest and dearest.” She and Jim met in May 2012 and ended things after a few months, but look to have rekindled in May.
Naturally, Jim is totally heartbroken over this news. “I am shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona,” he said in a statement. “She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled. My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt.”
Our thoughts remain with Jim, as well as Cathriona’s family and loved ones, during this difficult time.
