Oh boy, Selenators, do we have a special treat for you! Selena Gomez covered the smooth smash hit, ‘Rude,’ and girlfriend rocked it out. Watch her sexy take on the song now!
We all know Selena Gomez can sang, but she honestly just outdid herself. To promote her upcoming album, Revival, the 23-year-old dropped by BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge on Sept. 25 to perform an in-studio cover of MAGIC‘s huge single, “Rude,” and it was basically unbelievable. Luckily, we’ve got a video of the entire performance. We know– just when you thought this song was finally out of your head, it pulls ya back in. Watch the gorgeous clip!
First things first, Selena looked beyond stunning for the appearance. Rocking a sparkly silver dress, her loose waves definitely complimented the laid back vibe. Selena didn’t drastically change the song from the inside out, but rather, she sort of just removed the bouncy pop elements, making it a straight croon and we could not be more into it.
Actually, Selena remains so true to the original cut that she doesn’t even change a pivotal line to better suit her sexual preference! As we all probably know since the song has essentially been inescapable for the last year, the song says at several points “marry that girl.” Did Selena opt to swap out “girl” for “boy”? No sir, she did not!
Selena is full steam ahead promoting Revival, which will drop in full on Oct. 9, and this cover was a great way to get some attention on those glorious pipes. In fact, the cover was so well-received that Magic themselves sung her praises! “Great job with Rude thank you @BBCR1 @selenagomez love,” they tweeted.
What do you think of Selena’s “Rude” cover? Cool fit for her voice, or do you think it’s kinda weird?
