Whoa! Nationals pitcher Jonathan Papelbon totally choked out Bryce Harper on Sept. 27 in the dugout after a verbal fight! It’s so scary and there’s video of the incident too!

Jonathan Papelbon needs to calm down! The shocking fight went down during the Nationals vs. Philadelphia Phillies games and in the video you can clearly see Jonathan’s hand on Bryce Harper‘s throat and then he slams him into the wall — yikes!

It all went down after the eighth inning. No matter what may have gone down on the field, this should never have happened. Violence should never be an option, especially not during a game! Jonathan has since spoken out and said: “I’m in the wrong there. For me, I can’t allow that to happen in the middle of a game. You can handle that after the games or allow the manager to handle that. So in that light of it, I’m wrong.”

Manager Matt Williams defended the incident by saying: “Certainly, there’s a lot of testosterone flowing among young men competing.” But clearly there’s a larger issue, because just a few days before Jonathan got into a fight with Baltimore Orioles player, Manny Machado.  Jonathan was suspended for three games after the Manny incident but he appealed and he was allowed to play in this latest game where the choking occurred. He never should have been allowed to play without dealing with his apparent anger issues!

HollywoodLifers, are you shocked this would happen?
