We don’t yet know if ‘Chasing Life’ will get another season, or if this will be the end — but either way, season two went out with a bang.
You weren’t the only one crying during the Chasing Life finale on Sept. 28. HollywoodLife.com chatted with April Carver herself — yes, the one and only Italia Ricci, about the emotional, and for some, shocking, finale where everything changed, and April’s choice affected everyone.
“I feel like she doesn’t have regrets making the decision,” Italia, 28, told us exclusively about the finale where ultimately, April found out the chemo was not working, and instead of continuing life in and out of the hospital, she decided to live out the duration of her days without treatment.
“I think that she’s just so scared and frustrated and disappointed that nothing works for her, that she fought as hard as she could, but still couldn’t do it because sometimes that’s the way it goes,” Italia told us, admitting she was actually getting choked up thinking about it. “The moral of the show is never give up, and always keep fighting — but that being said, sometimes it just doesn’t work. That’s the nature of cancer. That’s the nature of life. It’s tragic.”
As for what’s next for April, well Italia wouldn’t be against filming in Italy for a few months! But more than anything, she’s anxious to see what kind of choices she’ll make now that she won’t be spending her last days in the hospital.
“Once you see that April made her very stubborn — but deeply powerful — but still kind of selfish choice, I want to see how she is now going to live the rest of her days, knowing she is going to die,” Italia added. “I think that she’s just scared and making this rash decision for herself, and she doesn’t want to see the people around her watch her turn into something that she doesn’t want to ever her remembered as.”
What did you think of the finale, HollywoodLifers?
