Is Dana Barrett returning? Well, we’re not quite sure about that yet but Paul Feig did just confirm on twitter that Sigourney Weaver will in fact return for the all-female ‘Ghostbusters’ reboot!
It’s official! Sigourney Weaver will join Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig in the new Paul Feig reboot of Ghostbusters. Of course, she is the latest of the original cast to join, as Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, and Dan Aykroyd have already confirmed their part. Now all we need is Rick Moranis to un-retire from acting, and we’ve basically got a reunion.
“Gang, trying to keep surprises but this is about to leak, so I’ll tell you myself: the awesome Sigourney Weaver is going to be in our movie.” Paul tweeted on Sept. 25.
Of course, it’s not surprising that he made the announcement — he’s recently been very vocal on Twitter about the cameos that he planned for the movies had been leaked. “Gang, everyone should know that any and all cameo announcements are leaks and nothing we wanted made public. Media, please take note,” he wrote on Sept. 23. “I only announced @Ernie_Hudson as a cameo because our set was overrun by paparazzi. I really wanted these cameos to be surprises. Just FYI.”

The news of Ernie’s cameo was confirmed by Paul, and then Ernie shared a photo that made Ghostbusters fans go absolutely crazy for — and you can see why below. While this movie was named as an “all-female” reboot, it obviously has a ton of powerful men also in the movie. We cannot wait for this — it can’t come soon enough.
Today was one of the most fun days of my career. Great respect for Paul and this amazing cast of ladies. pic.twitter.com/QpNssCDL6L
