Shepard Smith, 51, has just uncovered the mystery of Mona Lisa. If you were watching his live broadcast on Fox News on Sept. 24, he reported that it was 5-time Academy Award nominated actor Leonardo DiCaprio, 40, who painted the iconic portrait. Wait, what?
Well, this is positively hilarious! You have to watch the video below, caught and posted by Twitter user @StevensonErin, which shows Fox News reporter Shepard Smith claiming that Leonardo DiCaprio is the artist behind the Mona Lisa, as originally reported by E! Wait, wasn’t it the Italian artist Leonardo DaVinci who painted the mysterious portrait? And didn’t he do so in the 1500’s? If it was the actor we all know and love, that would make him… over 500 years old. Damn, he looks pretty good for his age!
Okay, to be fair to Shepard, he totally hesitates before saying Leo’s full name. It’s likely that the person who typed up the report for the monitor he was reading is the one who messed this up, but it sucks that Shepard wasn’t able to correct the mix up. Hey, at least Leo now has another massive accomplishment under his belt!
