Former ‘American Idol’ contestant Corey Clark was taken into custody for domestic violence charges on Sept. 23. On top of that, he’s also in trouble for aggravated harassment and failure to comply. Yikes!
Corey Clark, 35, who is best known for his time on season 2 of American Idol, was arrested for felony domestic violence in Yuma, Ariz., on Sept. 23, according to TMZ. Currently incarcerated at the Yuma County Detention Center, Corey is apparently expected to appear in court in the afternoon of Sept. 24.
Although no details have been released about the victim of the violence, Corey was immediately put behind bars as he also faced charges for failure to comply and aggravated harassment. As of now, it is uncertain what kind of punishment or jail time his charges will entail.
This isn’t the first time Corey has been arrested, either. He was booted off of Idol (after making the Top 10!) because he didn’t disclose a prior arrest for a fight he had with his sister in 2002. Corey sued Fox after his dismissal, but pleaded no contest. While Corey never reappeared on the show, he was rumored to have a sexual relationship with then-Idol judge Paula Abdul a couple of years later.
Corey is the second Idol alum to face domestic violence charges in just over a month — season 4 contestant Constantine Maroulis was arrested for domestic violence on Aug. 12 after he attacked the mother of his child. His case didn’t last long, though, as he claimed he was acting in self-defense.
HollywoodLifers, do you remember Corey from American Idol?
