How awful. Ali Landry’s father-in-law and brother-in-law were found brutally murdered just two weeks after they were kidnapped from their home in Mexico.
Ali Landry, 42, and her husband, Alejandro Gómez Monteverde, 38, are in mourning after finding out the fate of their missing Mexican relatives. Sadly, Alejandro’s father and brother, Juan Manuel Gómez Fernéndez and Juan Manuel Gómez Monteverde, were found dead in a city just over four hours from their home in Tamaulipas, Mexico. Both men had been dead for several days before they were finally discovered, a Mexican state prosecutor confirms. So sad.
This is heartbreaking news for Ali Landry’s husband and their entire family. Both of Alejandro’s relatives were kidnapped on Sept. 4 after leaving their home in Tampico, Tamaulipas, an area known for violent gang activity, reports the Latin Times. The very same report claims that Alejandro’s brother was the owner of a restaurant in the area, and that he frequently reported cartel activity.
Allegedly, a ransom was put on Alejandro’s relatives heads, and was paid according to Televisa news anchor Carlos Loret de Mola, reports PEOPLE. Unfortunately, neither of the Juan’s were released or returned to family, and two weeks after going missing their lifeless bodies were discovered near the shore in El Chachalaco.
The last time Alejandro posted a photo with his father, Juan Manuel, was nine months before his tragic death. Read the touching caption he wrote at the time:
Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the victims during this very difficult time.
