Michelle Obama, along with Sasha and Malia, donned appropriate, chic dresses and outfits for the Pope’s visit — and you can see and SHOP their looks RIGHT HERE.
When it comes to dressing appropriate and chic, no one does so quite like the fashionable first lady and her lovely daughters — and that’s just what they did on Sept. 22 when they stepped out to meet Pope Francis as he arrived in the United States for his historic visit. All eyes were on Michelle, Sasha and Malia Obama as they greeted Pope Francis at Joint Base Andrews, where they looked perfectly put together for the very special occasion.
Michelle looked appropriate and chic in a short-sleeved, baby blue Carolina Herrera cowl-neck wool crepe fit-and-flare dress, (which came with a whopping $2,290 price tag!), while her daughters rocked conservative, chic separates, showing off an effortless way to wear the midi skirt trend — a silhouette that we’re bound to see a whole lot more of this season! Sasha wore a pleated Kate Spade midi skirt, which she paired with a black short-sleeved top, while her older sis, Malia, also rocked a midi skirt in a black and white floral print. A black short-sleeved shirt polished off her outfit.
The Obama gals often fall under scrutiny for their hemlines, but no one should have anything to say about their effortlessly chic looks — they were perfectly appropriate and chic! Whether they’re dressing up or keeping it casual, we honestly can’t get enough of their attainable fashion.
Pope Francis is the third pope to meet with a president while in America — and after meeting with President Obama, he’s off to New York City before heading to Philadelphia. The Pope has a busy schedule while in the United States, with a slew of meetings scheduled, along with mass, of course. He will hold mass at both St. Patrick’s Cathedral and at Madison Square Garden during his stay in NYC.
Sasha’s color blocked skirt was a great choice — and even if you aren’t greeting the Pope you can still look perfectly put together in the silhouette! The pleated midi skirt is a great look for a daytime event, like a bridal or baby shower, and would also look just as good in the office — it’s a great look you can easily take from desk-to-dinner.
