Greg Lauren made his first appearance at NYFW since creating a women’s collection and we are obsessed. It is such a great collection, don’t you think?
Greg Lauren, 45, nephew of the iconic designer, Ralph Lauren, made his debut at New York Fashion Week with his very first runway show of only women’s looks, and it did not disappoint. Greg has a lot of pressure, considering his uncle is Ralph, however, he did just fine on his own and even exceeded our expectations.
Greg has had amazing feedback when it comes to his men’s line, but a women’s line is a whole new ball game. He went above and beyond, though, and the women’s collection is gorgeous.
He had a lot to say about his new collection to Vogue, “My collections have always been about a destroyed elegance. You don’t know whether the clothes are from the past or the future. At the same time, they’re a celebration of feminine power, strength, sensuality, and—most importantly—pain coexisting with beauty.”
The entire collection is made up of grungy distressed pieces and we saw a ton of army green skinnies that we’re dying to throw on already!
He also dished to our sister site, WWD, saying, “I was so excited about this idea that women are the new men. We haven’t even scratched the surface of what women are doing — in terms of leadership, arts, business. I wanted to do a show about women where every character was saying, ‘Don’t tell me what I am because I am so many different things.'” Wow, well said!
We are so excited about this new collection, it is everything!
