That’s a bold statement, Tyga! The rapper dropped his new music video for the track ‘Scandal’ on Sept. 21, in which he hits back at critics of his relationship with Kylie Jenner and actually compares himself to the King of Pop: Michael Jackson. Watch it here!
Whoa. Tyga, 25, is really fired up! The “Stimulated” rapper just dropped a new video for his track “Scandal,” in which he takes a shot at haters for criticizing his relationship with Kylie Jenner, 18, all the while comparing himself to Michael Jackson. Say, what?! Watch it here!
The video opens with a blur of headlines about Tyga, while recordings of news anchors saying things like “Tyga is really fired up about this,” play in the background. Cut to an empty church in Barcelona, Spain, where the rapper continues to take aim at the tabloids that are always “tryna put another scandal” on him. The rapper then continues to compare himself to the legendary King of Pop, boldly rapping, “They hate the way these diamonds dancin’ on me/I’m the reincarnated Michael Jackson/Now they tryna put a scandal on me.” Hmmm, we’re not sure if Tyga is comparing his talent to that of the late “Thriller” singer, or if he’s claiming that like MJ, he’s simply the victim of what he believes to be a fake scandal created by the media. Either way, it’s a bold statement to make.
Of course, we all know what scandal Tyga is referring to here: his once controversial relationship with Kylie, who only recently turned 18. Though the reality star doesn’t make an appearance in the video, the rapper does seem to reference her in his lyrics. “Say she young, she was askin’ for it/She was askin’ for it, I had the answers for her/All I wanna do is tell my story,” he raps.
Kylie herself has even taken shots at the media for criticizing her relationship with Tyga. Speaking candidly in an interview with Galore magazine on Sept. 8, the KUWTK star spoke of their romance saying, “I just want to be young and enjoy it, but this lifestyle absolutely made me grow up faster,” Kylie told Galore. “For me, age is just a number. It just makes no sense that, even a month ago, people were complaining that I was too young to be doing certain things, and now people are just okay with it because I’m grown. I don’t know why that one day made such a difference, but it really does change things for people.” At least they’re on the same page!
