The season 9 premiere of ‘The Voice’ airs tonight, Sept. 21, and all the judges have their eye on a certain someone. Barrett Baber’s performance of ‘Angel Eyes’ blew the four judges away, and they’re all begging him to be on their team! Click to WATCH a preview!
Barrett Baber is going to be a forced to be reckoned with this season on The Voice. On the show’s season 9 premiere on Sept. 21, he stuns the judges with a breathtaking performance of The Jeff Healey Band’s “Angel Eyes.” The four judges turn their seats around and plead with him to be on their team because he has “winner” written all over him.
Looks like another country singer could have the opportunity to win this season of The Voice! Barrett starts performing the hit country song, and it doesn’t take long for Adam Levine and Blake Shelton to turn their chairs around. When Barrett begins hitting some pretty incredible notes, they’re sold. Adam even gives him a standing ovation! Gwen Stefani and Pharrell eventually turned around too!
After his amazing performance, Barrett admits he wants to “pioneer some new music” by mixing country music with some soul. “There’s some really great music out there, but I think there’s a place for me for this voice,” Barrett says. Honestly, we love his voice. Adam and Blake, naturally, start fighting over the high school teacher.
“It’s like watching Garth [Brooks],” Blake says. What a compliment! “I want you on my team so badly,” Adam tells Barrett. Pharrell loves the soul he hears in Barrett’s voice. The preview ends before we see who Barrett picks. Who will he choose? Find out tonight! The Voice season 9 premieres at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
