Scott Walker announced during a press conference on Sept. 21 that he’s dropping out of the 2016 presidential race after new numbers showed he was polling at less than 5 percent — ouch! HollywoodLifers, are you surprised?
Scott Walker, 47, is out! The Wisconsin Governor made the not so shocking announcement on Sept. 21 and he said he was dropping out of the race. But it looks like Donald Trump has once again moved up in the race, especially after the real estate mogul dominated in the Iowa polls.
“I will suspend my campaign immediately,” he said in a press conference. He also went on to say that he wanted to thank his wife and all of his supporters, including their two sons. “Most of all I want to thank God .. win or lose he has always been more than enough.” His press conference didn’t last too long just a few minutes and he seemed at ease with his decision.
But despite his lack of success on the campaign trail, he has won three times in four years in the state of Wisconsin. He is the second candidate to drop out, first being former Texas Governor Rick Perry. Many felt Scott flip-flopped on many issues and that his trip to London was a disaster because he failed to answer many pressing questions adequately. Others called his speaking style “uninspiring” and in the last GOP debate his numbers put him at the very bottom of the pack. It appears the American people want a more dynamic leader and so far Mr. Trump is proving to be the best bet for the Republican party.
HollywoodLifers, are you surprised Scott dropped out?
