She’s back! Sandra Lee walked the red carpet at the Emmy Awards on Sept. 20, marking her first official appearance since her double mastectomy over the summer — and she looked absolutely fabulous!
Lookin’ good, Sandra Lee! The celebrity chef was stunning at the Emmy Awards, and it was an extra special night, because it was her first red carpet since undergoing breast cancer surgery in May 2015. We’re so excited that she’s looking and feeling so much better!
The 49-year-old was absolutely glowing in a pale pink gown with plunging neckline, showing off her tanned skin. She kept her hair in loose curls and opted for low-key makeup, including light pink lips and rosy pink cheeks.
Sandra first revealed her battle with breast cancer in May, and revealed she would be having a double mastectomy, even though the cancer was only found in one breast. “I never want to go through this again,” she explained at the time. But, scarily, things didn’t go exactly as planned, and she was rushed to the hospital on Aug. 3 after complications from the surgery.
Clearly, she’s feeling better now, though! “The last infection threw me a bit and I decided to focus and redirect all my energies internally,” she wrote in a Facebook post on Emmys day. “I physically and emotionally just needed to be silent and still while I healed. This has been an unreal chain of events in my life. I am still stunned, still digesting and still processing everything that has taken place this past year.”
She continued her message my thanking fans for their support, and even teasing that she has some ‘good’ surprises coming up now that she’s doing better. Plus, Sandra — whose cookbook you can buy here — confirmed that the website she promised fans is complete! “I hope the site will become your go to place for everything from food to fun fashion and even Street Smart finds,” she explained. We can’t wait to check it out!
