Nicki Minaj didn’t make it away unscathed on Drake’s new mixtape! Not only did the rapper slam his ex’s fiancé, Meek Mill, but he also threw some major shade right at Nicki herself…and even went so far as to bring her momma into the mix. YIKES!
The shots have been fired and the sides have been chosen! Drake, 28, has major beef with his friend and ex-love, Nicki Minaj’s, fiancé, Meek Mill, 28, but according to a new track from the Canadian rapper’s mixtape, he’s got some ill-will toward Nicki herself these days, too. Check out how he totally blasts her in the song “Diamonds Dancing!” To hear more about Nicki Minaj, head over to iTunes and download the latest HollywoodLife podcast for free!
In his final verse on the track, Drake raps about someone who’s “doing me dirty,” and taunts the person in question about how “that n***a can’t save your soul.” He goes on to sing, “How can you live with yourself? Haven’t even heard from you. How can you live with yourself? Ungrateful, ungrateful.” Could he possibly be referring to how Nicki didn’t even try to contact him once Meek started throwing shade over the summer?!
The 28-year-old takes things a whole step further when he mentions, “Your momma be ashamed of you.” OUCH, come on, don’t bring her mama into this! He also notes that he’s “too good” for Nicki and tells her to “go back to a perfect match for you.” He concludes the verse with some harsh words for his former pal: “You look drained, you look exhausted. Girl them late nights ain’t good for you. Really starting to show on you. Don’t hit me up when it’s good for you. Ungrateful.”
When Drake and Meek were publicly firing shots at one another in August, the “Anaconda” rapper mostly kept out of it, but it was pretty clear she wasn’t leaving her man just because of the beef. The pair shared several kisses in public throughout the ordeal, and went on a romantic vacation to Dubai just earlier this month.
But this isn’t the first time the guys have brought Nicki into the mix, even if she’s done her best to stay uninvolved. Meek made a point to let Drake know Nicki’s his gal during a performance on Aug. 6, when he freestyled, “Said I don’t think it’s ’bout no rapping, it’s ’bout Nicki. He told us he was first in line, but it got tricky, Istill wake up with the lady that you said you first in line with.” This was a direct reference to a line from the Canadian’s track, “Only,” in which he sings, “I never f**ked Nicki cause she got a man, but when that’s over, then I’m first in line.” WHOA!
