While most artists normally spend months working on their records, Drake and Future wasted no time putting this one out there. “I went to Atlanta for six days a couple of weeks ago with the hopes of doing some songs with Future, and when you get around future, it’s like a vortex,” Drake explained. “That guy can outwork anybody right now. It’ slough to see someone do four, five songs in one night and not try to match it.”
After days of rumors, the Canadian singer finally confirmed the mixtape on Instagram Sept. 16 by subtly posting a picture of diamonds with the caption, “WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE available 8pm EST, Sunday on iTunes.” Not quite Beyonce-status, but with just 24 hours in between the confirmation and the release, this one comes pretty close! Oh, and yes — there is a diss track for Meek Mill on there! Drake also threw shade at Chris Brown!
Previously, Drake and Future have toured together, and they’ve also teamed up on the hit “Where Ya At?” This friendship is STRONG!
