Wow, this is shocking. The House of Representatives voted to cut off federal funding to Planned Parenthood for one year to allow Congress to investigate the claims that employees sold fetus’ body parts for medical research.

Planned Parenthood has lost its federal funding for a full year after a 241-187 vote in the House of Representatives on Sept. 18. Following allegations that the company sells aborted fetus’ body parts, Republican presidential candidates have urged Congress to defund Planned Parenthood, and they have gotten their wish.

In a video released in July, actors posed as buyers and sat down with Planned Parenthood doctor Deborah Nucatola, who discussed selling hearts, lungs, livers and muscles from aborted fetuses. In the video, she allegedly admitted to using “partial-birth abortion” to deliver babies and sell their organs for medical research.

The video caused insane controversy, with those against abortion and Planned Parenthood outraged at the allegations. The subject has become a major issue in the 2015 GOP presidential debates, with all candidates supporting the motion to defund the company.

“Anyone who has watched tho video tape, I dare Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, to watch these tapes,” candidate Carly Fiorina said during the Sept. 16 debate. “Watch a fully formed fetus on the table, its heart beating, its legs kicking, while someone says we have to keep it alive to harvest its brain. This is about the character of our nation, and if we will not stand up and force President Obama to veto this bill, shame on us.”

Planned Parenthood has vehemently denied that the video features one of their clinics, and released a statement insisting that the video had been heavily edited and “falsely portrays Planned Parenthood’s participation in tissue donation programs that support lifesaving scientific research.”

Funding being cut is crazy and will certainly have a major effect on the population. Planned Parenthood has been providing health care to men and women for over 100 years, and 2.7 million men and women visit a clinic each year. Women are able to get affordable pap tests and breast exams at the health centers, and they also provide 4.5 million tests and treatments for STDs! Plus, as we’ve previously pointed out, Planned Parenthood has never used their federal funds for abortions.

HollywoodLifers, do you think funding should be cut?
