Kristen Stewart has proved that she isn’t afraid to speak her mind. In an incredibly in-depth interview with ‘The Daily Beast,’ the actress revealed that she has been following the Kim Davis trial — and shockingly revealed she feels ‘bad’ for the Kentucky Clerk. Wait…what? Why?!
Kentucky clerk Kim Davis, 49, made headlines when she denied same-sex couples the ability to obtain marriage licenses in her county. Kristen Stewart, 25, may be promoting her new sci-fi film Equals, but that hasn’t stopped her from hearing about this controversy…or voicing her opinion on it! Although Kim’s initial jailing was overturned, Kristen still feels “really bad” for Kim — and here’s why!
Kim was taken into custody on Sept. 3 after being found guilty of contempt of court for her refusal to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples in Kentucky’s Rowan County. She was released just five days later, though, under the condition that she does not “interfere” with license issuing again. During the entire controversy, Kristen revealed to The Daily Beast that she was paying attention to the whole thing (and feeling some major pity)!
“Oh my god. Did you see her come out of jail? Honestly, it makes me so deeply uncomfortable. I feel really bad for her,” Kristen told the outlet. But it’s not because she thinks Kim is right.”Anyone who’s so closed off to things that are so apparent? Imagine what else she’s missing out on in life. I’m not making any grand statements about her personally, but if something so glaringly obvious, such as this subject…”
Kristen was cut off by the interviewer, who finished the thought, “…to have that much hate in your heart must be awful.” Even if that’s not exactly what Kristen wanted to say, she did add, “That’s why I feel bad for her. It’s like, ‘Oh, buddy, that must suck.’ That fear of the unknown cripples people, breeds hate, and it’s just very sad.”
What a way to put it, Kristen! She didn’t directly say whether or now she thought what Kim did was wrong, but she clearly thinks the court clerk is very close-minded. Who knows what will happen next with Kim or her case, but it sounds like Kristen might have something to say if anything more does occur!
