When she decided she wanted a child, she had so many questions! That’s why she’s decided to make “goofy, smart, witty” videos to help girls everywhere feel less “scared or ashamed” of their own bodies. Find out more!
“I’ve been on the Pill for so long; how hard will it be to get pregnant?” Jessica explained to Glamour magazine that she had so many unanswered questions when she decided to have a baby. “Suddenly I realized I really didn’t know what’s going on inside my own body. It was shocking.”
“More than half of our nation’s pregnancies are unplanned, and just 22 states require public schools to teach sex education,” activist and founder of the nonprofit health care organization WomanCare Global told, Saundra Pelletier, told Glamour. “Jessica and I realized we can help change this,” she said when explaining why she and Jessia decided to make the sex-ed videos. You can watch the videos at womancareglobal.org.
“You have to have the courage to stand up for what you believe in,” Jessica said. She opened up about the time when she first got her period and how confused she was. “I was in a school play, wearing a gray beard and this pad the size of a skateboard and thinking, What is happening to me?” she says. “We want girls to know what their [body is going through] so they don’t feel scared or ashamed or gross.”
Together, they plan to “share girl stories, fears, and insecurities,” Jessica said. “The tone is informative but also goofy, smart, witty.” HollywoodLifers, would you be interested in watching Jessica’s videos? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
