We have a winner! 10 acts competed in the finals of ‘America’s Got Talent,’ but only one was named champion on the Season 10 finale after the viewers’ vote. Read our full recap and find out who won here!
[SPOILER] is America’s Got Talent Season 10 winner! The show’s Sept. 16 finale was jam-packed with entertainment, but the biggest moment of the 2-hour episode was right at the very end, when host Nick Cannon announced who would take home the $1 million prize and land a show on the Las Vegas strip. WARNING: Don’t read on if you don’t want to know the winner!
Aside from the nerve-racking results, the final contestants got to have a lot of fun during the finale. After a recap of Tuesday’s performance episode, The CraigLewis band took the stage with gospel singer Yolanda Adams, and the crowd was totally feeling it. The, mentalist Oz Pearlmann showed his skills (which never get old!) and his competitor Derek Hughes did some magic tricks with former AGT winner Mat Franco. And Piff The Magic Dragon joined in on the fun, too, joined by famous magicians Penn & Teller, no big deal!
After a commercial break, a recently injured Uzeyer Novruzov got some help from eliminated contestants Freelusion for another fun performance. Even though the injury didn’t allow him to go at his full potential, it’s still great to see Uzeyer not giving up and giving the fans, who voted him through despite a disastrous fall, what they want.
In between all the fun, host Howard Stern made us all emotional for a moment, mentioning what we’ve known for weeks — it’s his last season as a judge on the show. But it didn’t last long, as he led his exit speech into a funny package about Nick, and then the season’s two stand-up comedians, Gary Vider and Drew Lynch, attempted to roast one another. But they were too nice for judge Howie Mandel, who welcomed Jeff Ross to the stage to show them how it’s done. SO funny!
Penn and Teller came back onstage later on, joined by season favorite the Professional Regurgitator, Stevie Starr, and as usual, his act was amazing — he regurgitated a FISH! Then, Rachel Platten took the stage to sing her hit “Fight Song” with the only solo singer left in the competition, Benton Blount. Soooo freakin’ good. And, ahead of results, finalist Paul Zerdin also brought his act back to the stage. His ventriloquism never gets old, and there was even a special appearance from Season 2 winner, Terry Fator!
FINALLY, an hour and a half into the show, we got into the first set of results, during which five of the ten finalists were eliminated. With Oz Pearlmann, Drew Lynch, the Professional Regurgitator, the CraigLewis band and Paul Zerdin named as the Top 5, that left Derek Hughes, Gary Vider, Uzeyer Novruzov, Benton Blount and Piff the Magic Dragon sent packing.
And, back for some more results! Nick then announced the act in fifth place: The CraigLewis Band. Surely it was disappointing to be the first of the Top 5 eliminated, but the guys have to know how amazing it was to get so far. Before the next elimination was made, though, a montage for Howard, and yes, we got pretty emotional about it!
After a commercial break, another act was eliminated, when Nick announced the Professional Regurgitator was in fourth place. WHAT?! This one totally shocked us. Stevie was a fan favorite from the beginning, and the crowd showed their disapproval by booing when he was sent home.
And in third place…Oz Pearlmann. That left Drew Lynch, the loveable, stuttering comedian, and Paul Zerdin, the ventriloquist as the final two. And your winner of America’s Got Talent season 10 — by only one percent difference in votes — is….Paul Zerdin! WOW! Congratulations!
HollywoodLifers, do you think the right person won America’s Got Talent?
