So not every movie should be live-action, but ‘The Jungle Book’ can totally pull it off. Disney released the first full trailer on Sept. 15, and you have to watch this.
After the super short teaser two days ago, Disney has unveiled the first full-length trailer of Jon Favreau’s live-action/CGI remake of The Jungle Book. Based on the stories of Rudyard Kipling, the film is visually breathtaking and we can tell that the story alone will be one to remember. The new trailer features the very creepy voice of Scarlett Johansson, who takes on the role of python Kaa. Watch the trailer here!
Newcomer Neel Sethi plays Mowgli, a man-cub who was raised by wolves and is no longer welcome in the jungle. However, when a fearsome tiger Shere Khan (voiced by Idris Elba) vows to help him, everything changes. Guided by a stern panther (Ben Kinsley) and free-spirited bear (Bill Murray), he abandons his home to find himself — and everything else is a a mystery.
It appears that Scarlett is definitely a villain in this one, in the best way possible. The film also stars Christopher Walken as the smooth orangutan King Louie, Lupita Nyong’o as the protective mother wolf Raksha and Giancarlo Esposito as the pack’s alpha male Akela.
“I really enjoy that process, playing a mother of this boy. Just the love between a human and a wolf was something really cool to explore,” Lupita told Entertainment Weekly about the role.
The film hits theaters in 3D on April 15. Are you excited, HollywoodLifers?
