So to be fair, this trailer is much ‘tease’ than anything else, as the first 50 seconds just serve as a refresher of what went down in the last ‘Divergent’ film. Regardless, what’s coming looks good.
Tris (Shailene Woodley), Caleb (Ansel Elgort), Peter (Miles Teller), and of course, Four (Theo James) are back, with a little help from Jeff Daniels. We’ll go loose on the term “help” for now, since we really have no idea what he’ll be doing in the film, except the snippet we see of him in the trailer, telling Tris he wants her help to save the world.
“The first movie was about Tris sort of following Four,” Shailene told MTV News. “The second movie, Four was sort of following Tris to stop her from following her impulsive nature. And in this movie, we thought it would be lovely to create a balance of the two.” As we see in the trailer, Four and Tris definitely still have that romance — they’re full on making out against some rocks in this teaser. Hey, when you’re life’s on the line, you have to be with the ones you love, right?
We have a serious question about Tris though — where did that blond bob come from? She had a much darker pixie at the end of Insurgent so unless there’s some sort of time jump that we’re unaware of, we’re really anxious to hear about her hair.
Will Fans Love Or Hate The New Movie?
Veronica Roth, director of the films gave this one a new tagline: “Break the boundaries of your world;” the next one, The Divergent Series: Ascendant, also got a new tagline: “The end is never what you expect.” Luckily, she did give us a little bit of insight.
“What does this mean? Well, basically, it means there are going to be some changes, but it’s really too early to know exactly what those changes will be or the extent of them. I know changes always make fans of the books — and the author! — nervous, but hopefully the characters we know (and love. Or sometimes love to hate?) will still be intact, which is really the important thing,” Veronica wrote on her Tumblr. “I am eager to see how these movies turn out, along with you guys.”
Do you want to see The Divergent Series: Allegiant, when it hits theaters in March 2016? Let us know.
