Congratulations to Colton Dixon! Though the singer only made it to the Top 7 on Season 11 of ‘American Idol,’ he found the number one woman for him. He asked his girlfriend, Annie Coggeshall, to marry him and she said yes!
Colton Dixon, 23, is known for creating beautiful music, but for the former American Idol contestant, there’s only one woman who makes his heart sing. This “Prince Charming” decided to make his girlfriend, Annie Coggeshall, feel like a princess by asking her to marry him while at Disney World! It must be a fairy tale romance because they’re now engaged!
Colton popped the question on Sept. 11, reports People. After his proposal, Annie really made Disney World the happiest place on earth for Colton by saying she would be his wife! Seems Annie would leave the theme park that day with more than a pair of mouse ears. She now has a fancy new piece of bling on her ring finger.
“She said yes!” Colton said in an Instagram photo collage, tagging the pictures of them with bridal Mickey Mouse Ears with the hashtags #disneyworld #bestdayever #iCried #SheDidnt. Awww. Well, when the love of your life agrees to be your one-and-only, it’s okay to get emotional.
Annie wrote that she had no idea that he was going to propose. Surprise! How wonderful. She also gave all her followers a nice close-up of the ring on her own Instagram and wow! What a sparkle. It’s quite a beautiful diamond, one that perfectly matches their love.
Colton’s time on American Idol actually began before Season 11. He originally auditioned for the tenth season, but didn’t make it to the top 24. He made it to the Top 25 for Season 11 and advanced all the way to the Top 7. Colton wooed voters with performances of Billy Joel’s “Piano Man,” Eminem and Rihanna’s “Love the Way You Lie,” and Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance.” Unfortunately, Colton didn’t make it past the Top 7, as he was cut after his performance of Earth, Wind & Fire’s “September.”
Well, September is now a great month for Colton, as it’s the month when his girlfriend agreed to be his wife! We wish the best for Colton and Annie! Leave your own congratulations for Colton and Annie below, HollywoodLifers! Was he one of your favorites on Season 11 of American Idol?
