Unlike her fans and some audience members, Serena isn’t blaming Drake for her loss. “She doesn’t blame Drake but would have rather him not have shown up till the finals,” an insider EXCLUSIVELY tells HollywoodLife.com. Unfortunately, Serena can’t turn back time and tell Drake not to show up to her match. That’s such a sad thought because the 28-year-old was beaming during his lady’s match against Roberta.
The rapper kept his distance from the US Open ever since Robin Roberts, 54, tried to slyly ask Serena if Drake was going to show up for her first match on Aug. 31. Drake managed to stay away until Sept. 11. The rapper showed up to support his gal and every time the camera would pan to Drake in the audience, he had a huge smile on his face. Sadly the match didn’t end happily, Serena lost her chance to win a Grand Slam.
Serena Congratulates Roberta On Her Win
Serena is such a great sport. After suffering a massive defeat, the tennis pro still held her head high and congratulated her opponent Roberta on her amazing in. When asked about Roberta, Serena said that she thought her tennis opponent “played the best tennis in her career.” She called Roberta’s enthusiasm “inspiring,” and added that Roberta “played literally out of her mind.” But, Serena was much more harsh on her own performance. She admitted she made “more unforced errors than I normally make.” It was a tough loss, but clearly there are no hard feelings as everyone in the match played their best.
HollywoodLifers, did you think Drake should’ve stayed home or watch the match elsewhere?
