This is shocking news. Rick Perry has terminated his 2016 presidential campaign, effectively ending his run for the White House altogether. We’re dumbfounded by Rick’s decision.
Former Texas Governor Rick Perry announced on Friday, September 11, that he will no longer be running for president of the United States in 2016. Wow. He broke the news at the Eagle Forum in St. Louis, MI, in front of thousands of supporters — and naysayers.
Rick was apparently well prepared to tell the crowd — and the nation — of his decision to no longer vie for the presidency. “We have a tremendous field – the best in a generation – so I step aside knowing our party is in good hands, and as long as we listen to the grassroots, the cause of conservatism will be too,” Rick told the audience listening to him with rapt attention.
The former governor announced that he would be running for president on June 4, 2015, but was forced to cut his staff in August 2015 after receiving poor fundraising. Though he wished to get help from an allied super PAC, it wasn’t enough to keep him going in the tight race for the White House.
HollywoodLifers, what do YOU think about Rick deciding to not run for president in 2016?
