Is Joe Jonas preparing to follow in his brother, Nick’s, footsteps? It appears the 26-year-old is ready to give music another go with a new band called DNCE. Check out the teaser and a clip of their possible first single here!
A new band might be getting ready to take the music world by storm — and Joe Jonas is their fearless leader! The former Jonas Brother may not be in a group with his bros anymore, but he’s teamed up with three musical friends to form a new group called DNCE, and teased their band in an Instagram video on Sept. 10.
In the short, cryptic video, the letters D N C E flash across the screen in different styles, until the very end when four people, three guys and a girl, are seen walking out of the ocean. We can barely see their faces, but if you look at the @dnce Instagram account, it’s only following four people, so we have a pretty good idea of who’s in the group.
Besides Joe, there’s Jack Lawless, who the 26-year-old has known for YEARS because he used to be the JoBros’ drummer. Then there’s Cole Whittle, who used to play bass in the band Semi Precious Weapons and is one of Joe’s good friends. And who’s the lucky lady?! Jin Joo, another one of Joe’s pals who has played guitar for Charli XCX.
As for more details, well…there aren’t any. So far, the band’s Instagram and Twitter accounts are private, and we have NO clue what kind of music they’ll be performing or what Joe’s role will be.
The singer actually tried to work musically outside of the brothers during one of the band’s breaks in 2011, but his album, Fastlife, debuted to poor sales. However, Nick Jonas’ project around that time, Nick Jonas & The Administration, also didn’t garner much success, and we all know how well he’s doing now. So hopefully this is Joe’s second chance, too!
